All Natural Household Cleaning Blends

Trying your best to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals used to maintain your household is very important, but isn’t always easy. While reading labels and researching ingredients heightens awareness, it doesn’t always ensure the health and safety of your home.

Fortunately, DIY essential oil blends will help you eliminate toxic chemicals and give you the peace of mind you need. The best part is, you can customize the essential oils to your scent preference, or even disinfectant properties for your unique household needs. What better way to get your hands on the perfect all-natural household products than to make them yourself!?

All Purpose Cleaner: Lavender, cypress, orange, grapefruit, lemongrass

Add 8 drops of oil to 2 litres of water in a spray bottle. Shake and spray.

Dishwashing liquid: Lavender, bergamot, lime, orange

Add 8 drops to a mild liquid detergent.

Carpet Cleaning: Lavender, bergamot, lemon, grapefruit

1 drop of oil per 1tbsp of kaolin, borax or talc. Sprinkle onto carpet and let sit for 10 minutes before vacuuming.

Window Cleaning: Lemon, lime, grapefruit

After washing windows with surface cleaner, add 1 drop of oil on clean cloth and rub on windows to remove streaky marks.

Bathroom Cleaner: Lemongrass, bergamot, lavender, orange, lemon

2-3 drops undiluted on a wet cloth.

 

Homemade Natural Plant Sprays

Maintaining thriving house plants takes lots of hardwork and dedication. That’s why it’s important to protect them against insects, mold and fungus which thrive in low light environments. We recommend trying these simple all natural plant sprays with essential oils to nurture your plants:

Repel insects: Garlic, cedar, pine

Place a few drops of oil on lids/small plates, and place around plants to deter pests, without killing them.

Repel insects: Peppermint, spearmint, garlic, hyssop

Add 4 drops to a spray bottle with warm water. Shake and spray.

Prevent fungus: Patchouli, tea tree

Eight drops of oil in a gallon of water. Apply with spray to leaves to discourage mold.
